Michigan Still Sucks

The Michigan game was such an awesome experience! I spent the day tailgating with friends and we lined up for a random gate only to find out we were in the S zone (and the only people wearing blue at the white out)! It was such a great atmosphere in the student section and even though I paid $150 for a ticket it was worth it. It's the day after the game at 5:34 and...well, you know the rest.

Bellisario

On Friday, October 20, the amazing man who gave $30 million to the College of Communications visited campus for a special ceremony thanking him for his donation. I had the opportunity to greet him and his family as the go off the bus and meet and thank him later in the day. I also had a surprise: his daughter, one of my favorite actresses, came to State College and I got to meet her and get pictures with her! I'm so happy that I was involved in this event and got to experience this! Every day I become more amazed at all of the opportunities Penn State has to offer.

Home ❤️

This weekend I went home for my high school’s homecoming and to see my family. It was so nice to sleep in my own room and see my friends and pets. I love being at Penn State but it was nice to go home and spend time with my family and friends. My high school team lost (as usual) but I still had fun because I was so glad to see all of my friends and old teachers at the game. My favorite part of the weekend was getting to spend a ton of time with my favorite pet, Oreo.

PSU Football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was finally able to go to my first PSU football game on Saturday! I had been working 30+ hours a week, while attending classes and club meetings full time and I had to work football Saturdays. I finally got fed up with it and quit my job, which lifted so much weight off my shoulders. The first game I was able to go to was this past Saturday, against Indiana. It was so much fun! My friend Emily and I walked around the tailgates and met up with my friend Annie from high school (pic 1). We later ran into my aunt's roommate from when she went to Penn State, and her family, which are close friends of my family (pic 2)! It was so nice to see them and they fed us a lot of food.😋 Later, we went into the stadium and got seats in the fifth row near the goal post which had such a good view. The game was insane, 7 points in 14 seconds!!! I loved being with my friends and they were so helpful, teaching me the cheers and getting me pumped for the game. I had such a great time and I can't wait for my next game! We are!

Momotaro!

My friends and I went to check out Momotaro, the rolled ice cream place for the first time and it was amazing! I love matcha and they had matcha flavored ice cream. You can get fruit, different types of candy, and other sweets in your ice cream as well as a fruit drizzle. After it's all rolled they put fruit, candy, a marshmallow, a pocky stick, and other adorable decorations on top. It was one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. I will definitely be going back. Yum!

Canning Weekend

My first and last canning weekend ever was crazy! I went canning with one of the THON groups I am a member of, Oriana Glee Club Benefitting THON (OGC). It was so nice to go with all of these people because we all love music and love to sing and it's nice to be with people who are just like you. We went to one of the members' house in Akron, Ohio, and canned in Cleveland. We raised over $2,000 FTK! We had a fun time canning for the most part, event though some places changed their mind about us canning at their store even though they approved it before, and we had to adjust to the heat! There were some major crises, including one member's car breaking down, and someone smashing a window of one of the members' cars to steal two pocket knives and a speaker. Some people even said they're never coming back to Ohio (at least for a long time)! But we sacrificed a small amount to help children who have gone through much worse than us. Watching our favorite team play against Iowa was one of the best parts of the trip: everyone rooting for the same team, OUR team, and seeing them win after a tough game was all we could ask for. I love my school, and I love that I got to help raise money to eradicate pediatric cancer. FTK!!!!

PRSSA

I've had such a busy week that I haven't had the chance to post about my first PRSSA meeting. On Tuesday, I went to the Strategic Planning and THON meetings for PRSSA and it made me even more certain I chose the right major. Unfortunately there isn't much about crisis management firms which is my main interest, but I am still excited to learn more about other aspects of PR! I also found out that our THON child is Emily Whitehead, a girl from my hometown who I know well! I could not be happier or more shocked that I am paired up with her. I'm excited to show some hometown pride and support her in every way I can. She has literally changed the world with her cancer treatment, being the first patient to try an experimental cancer treatment which cured her. She is a hero and celebrity in our town and the beginning of the end of cancer. I love being able to help her and children like her, especially through Penn State. FTK!
